Inside: Ailing animals and birds
The Wildlife Hospital is a real, working veterinary facility dedicated to the treatment and care of native Australian animals. Watch as the nurses and vets inside help ailing, injured animals get back to full health at this facility and learn how to care for these gentle creatures.
Animals inside: Snakes, lizards, turtles, and crocodiles
Learn all about these slimy, scaled creatures that are so often misunderstood, and get up close with a harmless snake or crocodile! This exhibit also aims to replicate their natural environments, so the reptiles will be at their most comfortable while you interact with them.
Animals inside: Short-beaked echidnas
In this interactive exhibit, you'll observe echidnas using their long, sticky tongues to feed, and if you're lucky, one might even crawl over you! Each echidna has its own personality, making every encounter special.
Rides inside: Water jets, fountains and pools
Designed with interactive water elements, this zone is a great place for kids – with features like timed water jets, streams, and waterfalls. It also includes a thrilling tipping bucket, ensuring plenty of opportunities to get drenched!
Absolutely! Inside the sanctuary, you’ll meet various native Australian species, like koalas, kangaroos, capybaras, emus and cassowaries – some of which you won’t be able to see in any other sanctuary! You’ll also get to have some unique experiences, like watching animal surgeries at the Wildlife Hospital!
You’ll be able to avail an entry ticket to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary – this ticket provides full access to the sanctuary, including all exhibits and shows. Children get a discounted ticket, while infants go free!
You'll be able to see a wide variety of animals, including koalas, kangaroos, and echidnas. The Lost Valley exhibit features playful lemurs and capybaras. You'll see birds of prey in the WildSkies Free Flight Bird Show, as well as other fascinating species like Tasmanian devils, red pandas, and tree kangaroos.
We’d recommend bringing comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, water, and a camera. Also, consider bringing a raincoat or umbrella in case of rain.
Yes, car parking is available at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. You’ll have to pay AU$10 for parking if you’re not a member of the National Trust of Australia (Queensland). Members of NTA can park for free.
Yes, the sanctuary has several dining options including cafes and kiosks offering a variety of food and beverages. There are also picnic areas available for those who wish to bring their own food.
Yes, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is wheelchair accessible, with paths and facilities designed to accommodate visitors with mobility needs. Wheelchairs are also available for hire.
