The Story

Chicago tells the story of two rival vaudevillian murderesses locked up in Cook County Jail. Roxie Hart, a nightclub dancer who kills her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her, and Velma Kelly, a glamorous performer who’s doing time for killing her husband and sister after catching them in bed together. Velma enlists the help of prison matron Mama Morton and smooth-talking lawyer Billy Flynn, who turns Roxie into a media sensation.
